Long Description – Job Summary
You will be responsible for Architecting ,effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for Alghanim Industries and infrastructure ranging from 2nd line support tasks to complex Back End infrastructure projects, working within the team to continuously improve the IT Infrastructure function.
Responsibility for Monitoring, measuring, analysis and management of events, incidents and problems. Ensure that appropriate design and planning of availability takes place for all new services. Perform data analysis to detect emerging trends and underlying service issues, make recommendations and help formalise data management, housekeeping and archiving standards. Perform single point of failure analysis, critical failure impact analysis and infrastructure risk analysis. Make recommendations and engage necessary teams to drive improvements.
Excellent communication skills and business awareness required. Building working relationships and effectively communicating with internal/external parties to ensure SOP and KPIs are met.
Job Responsibilities
•Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
•Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
•Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
•Troubleshooting, fixing problems and owning issues through to resolution
•Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary, Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
•Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
•Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
•Upgrade and configure system software that supports Alghanim Industries infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs
•Provide and develop a level of expertise and solutions in; VMware, Windows, Linux, Storage Systems, Networking, ITIL, basic project management and Problem Solving
•Activities that support pro-active management, monitoring and optimisation of the application infrastructure
•
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
•Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
•Handling escalated calls from 1st line IT support
•Manage disaster recovery and replication procedures along with Managed Service Provider
•Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
Candidate Requirements
•Degree educated or qualified by experience
•Microsoft , VMware and ITILv3 certified
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
•AIX / Linux and Windows Server
•Implement / Manage VMware vSphere ESXI clusters, HP Blade Servers , Cisco UCS , Nutanix
•AD, LDAP, NTP, DHCP
•Architecting and Managing the Core EMC Storage environment
•Disaster recovery for the systems such as failing over and failing back business critical services
•Excellent knowledge of planning, installing, configuring and maintaining VMware vSphere
•Managing and maintaining Group Policies
•Knowledge of Office 365 and Exchange Online
•Experience of AWS and Azure cloud platforms
•Veritas NetBackup
•Cloud technologies, High Performance Computing
•Familiarity with service models (ITIL)
•System management tools such as SCOM
